If you’ve seen Gone With The Wind, you’ll remember a few classic lines from the movie. A favorite of mine occurs after one of the many great difficulties in the book/ film. Scarlett O’hara is sad and a bit broken. Then a great dawn of hope comes over her, and with great expectancy she declares “after all, tomorrow is another day!”
That statement rings true of hope in life. A fresh start. A new day!
The longer we live on this earth, the more opportunities we have to make mistakes.
Scripture tells us in Lamentations 3:23 that God’s mercies are new each morning! He gives us a fresh start.
I think it’s fair to say that we all have regrets. Things we said or did, or things we didn’t say, or didn’t do, that cause us angst. When we feel crushed in spirit, or downcast, or stuck, let’s remember Lamentations 3:23.
“His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness!”
- Each one of us has made mistakes
- Each one of us has regrets.
It would be easy to let our past define us, to let it take over and cripple us in spirit. But, “God invites us to face the future with anticipation, knowing that we are forgiven and that the Lord has given us a fresh start.”
- Everyday brings new possibilities and opportunities to love and be loved
- To do better
- To live in the fullness of His grace
“After all, tomorrow is another day!”
